International Yoga Day
Department of Bachelor of Commerce had organised a session on yoga on account of International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2017. Tension free and disease free life is possible only by practising yoga regularly. Teachers were trained to do basic asanas. The session was organised in association with Isha Yoga Center. 58 staff members participated in the session. Staff from engineering section also attended the same.
Department of Commerce had organised a Industrial Visit to National Stock Exchange (NSE) on 2nd February, 2017 for S.Y.B.Com. students.
Department of Accountancy organised a Guidance Session for T.Y.B.Com. students by CA Yogesh Patel, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Accountancy, S. K. Somaiya College, Mumbai in the subject of Cost Accounting on 29th September, 2016.
Department of Economics organised a Guidance Session for T.Y.B.Com. students by Dr. G. K. Kalkoti, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Economics, Nagindas Khandwala College, Mumbai in the subject of Business Economics on 28th September, 2016.
Department of Commerce conducted a Guidance Session for T.Y.B.Com. students in the subjects of Marketing (Com V) and Export Marketing by Principal, Dr. Madhu Nair, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science, Kandivali on 23rd September, 2016.
Department of Economics in association with University of Mumbai organised One Day Workshop on ‘Syllabus Revision of F.Y.B.Com. (Semester I & II) & M.Com. (Semester I & II) – Business Economics’ on 25th July, 2016.
The Guest of Honour was Dr. Parvathi Venkatesh, Chairperson, Adhoc Board of Studies in Business Economics, University of Mumbai. Former Vice Principal of R. A. Poddar College Prof. Rajam Rajagopalan, Dr. Madhubala Swami and Prof. Shivaji Pawar were the resource persons.
The Workshop received an overwhelming response from the participants of Navi Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg colleges.
A tribute was given to the Kargil Martyrs on the account of Kargil Vijay Diwas which was conducted by the Department of Commerce by organising a lecture on Kargil War and Career options for students in Defence by Retd. Major Vinay Degoankar on 26th July, 2016.
Mock Stock Day
Department of Commerce organised, “A Lecture on Careers in Financial Markets and Mock Stock Exchange – Recreation of Outcry Method” by Mr. Purv Shah Freelance with Bombay Stock Exchange and Vice President Dart Skills on 24th February, 2016 for F.Y. / S.Y. / T.Y.B.Com. and B.Com. (Financial Markets) students.
Department of Commerce had organised a Study Tour to National Stock Exchange on 8th February, 2016 for the S.Y.B.COM. students.
Department of Commerce had organised One day National Level Paper Presentation Competition on the topic “New Paradigms in Trade, Commerce & Service Sector” on 12th January, 2016.
Two Days Workshop conducted on “Training on use of Statistical Techniques in Social Research” organised by B.M.S. and B.Com. Department of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science on 28th and 29th January, 2016.
The Chief Guest of the session was Dr. Rajalakshamy, Principal of Nirmala Memorial Foundation College.
There were three sessions. First session was on Guidelines for PhD. Registration and Preparation of Research Proposal by Dr. Richa Jain, B.M.S. Co-ordiantor at Thakur College of Arts, Commerce and Science. Second Sesion was on Preparation of Questionnaire and Review of Literature by Dr. G.K.Kalkotti, Head of Department of Economics and Research Centre at Nagindas Khandwala College of Science and Commerce. The third session was on Hands on training on Dta Analysis by Prof. Doke, Vice-Principal of M.L.Dhahanukar College of Commerce.
Department of Economics organized a test on ‘Know Your Economy: Awareness Kindling Test- 2015-16’ in association with ‘Scientific Research Association for Economics and Finance (SRAEF)’ on Saturday, 9th January, 2016.
