Placement Cell Golden Saturday – 2019-2020

On 5th October, 2019, PCACS’s Placement Department celebrated a day, which is part of Golden Saturdays with Alumni on account of 50 years of M.E.S. in 2020. PCACS and Placement Cell hosted an event named, ‘Gap between College and Industry / Company and Employability’. This event was conducted in the auditorium for F.Y. & S.Y. students of all streams from commerce and science departments.

We invited our Alumni as the chief guests and resource speakers for this event.

Other alumni and our guests for this event were Mrs. Suvarna Joshi from Lotus Knowledge Wealth. As part of the Securities Exchange Board of INDIA’s (SEBI) Initiative to spread MUTUAL FUND AWARENESS, LKW’s Partner Firm, Jai Vatnani & Co. (JVC) has been mandated by a leading Asset Management Company to conduct a program of up to a maximum of 75-90 minutes with Q&A. The minimum number of participants mandated was 40-45 per Program.

As part of its mandate, LKW conducted this Program free of cost and it was beneficial to the participants in terms of enhanced Knowledge and Awareness for making Capital Market and Investment Decisions.

  • Understand Risk and its Impact

The objective of the event was to orient the F.Y. and S.Y. students about how to prepare for Industry and academia. The topics covered in this event were soft skills, awareness and preparedness for career / job and communication skills. The event was very beneficial to prepare students to step in the corporate world and soar high in their respective fields. PCACS Placement Department is aptly set up, not only to get right job, but also to guide each of its student to get into the right career.

Formation of Alumni Expert Forum

On 20th April, 2019, PCACS Placement Department celebrated a day, which is part of Golden Saturdays with Alumni on account of 50 years of M.E.S in 2020. PCACS and Placement Cell hosted an event named, “Formation of Alumni Expert Forum”. This event was conducted in Admission Cell .We invited our Alumni to discuss and form a team to Mentor and Guide the current students.

The objective of this event is to form a group with the alumni from different streams wherein they can help the current students to help and clear their doubts and guide them. The idea behind formation of this forum is to provide an Industry/Corporate guidance, Career counselling and mentoring upcoming batches every year.

Session on ‘Golden Saturday’

On 23rd November, 2019 B.Com. Department organized a session on ‘Golden Saturday’. It was conducted for the B.Com. students of PCACS in L-302 at 11:30 a.m. by Mr. Inder U. Sharma, B.Com. alumni from the batch 2008. He is a Founder and Sr. Advisor of Awaaz Service Society.

The session included guidance on blood donation. He shared his wonderful experiences of college life and gave information about his NGO. He also talked about his activities towards women and children well-being. He gave an insight of various events that he has conducted in Navi Mumbai. Mr. Sharma had a very interactive approach throughout the session, which was liked the by the B.Com. students of PCACS.

Department of B.Com conducted a ‘Youth Forum’ in accordance to celebration of “50 Golden Saturdays” with Alumni marking the Golden Jubilee of MES on 30th March, 2019 wherein students were guided on how to discover their Inner Drive by Ms. Nikhitha Nair and Mr. Rejith Nair of 2018 Batch. Post the address, the students presented their views on ideas that influence the Youth, viz.

Department of B.Com. inaugurated the celebration of “50 Golden Saturdays” with Alumni marking the Golden Jubilee of MES on 12th January, 2019 with an event “Be YOUnique” wherein students were guided on how to have their own definition of success. Alumni of 2009 and 2011 batches, Mr. Unnikrishnan P and Mr. Vibhu Mishra shared their life experience and how they followed their passion and the need to follow one’s passion for long lasting success. The event concluded with an address by Dr. Aarti Sukheja, IQAC Co-ordinator on how important uniqueness is in life.

Golden Saturday conducted by B.M.S. Department

Department of B.M.S. celebrated the department’s 2nd 50 Golden Saturday on 15th June, 2019. Jeffin Ani Johns CEO and co founder of BrandKeeda and group CEO for JTE Group of Companies was invited for a session on “Being Entrepreneur”.

Jeffin Ani John holds double masters from ICFAI and he is Certified lean 6 sigma green belt professional, Government of india certified in digital marketing, entrepreneurship mentoring, worked with over 120 clients from India, US and middle eastern countries, Holds multiple awards and recognitions such as top 3 in young leaders of tomorrow by economic times for consecutive 2 years, iMSME top young leaders in India, India 5000 awards and top 30 under 30 young edupreneurs in India by Brainfeed Magazine, Nominated last year to represent India in European startup festival conducted in Turin, Italy, Alumni of 2012 B.M.S. batch of PCACS.

50 Golden Saturday Celebration

B.M.S. Department conducts a Session on ‘How to manage better client relations?’

B.M.S. Department commenced the Golden Saturday’s Celebration on 23rd February, 2019 with a practical session for second year and third year marketing elective students. The session was on ‘How To Manage Client Relation And How To Get Clients?’ It was conducted by Mr. Arjith Wadhva, Founder and Proprietor, AR Graphics. He is alumni of B.M.S. department 2013-14 batch.

Students had practical session on ‘How To Sell Your Product?’ and ‘How To Value Your Customer?’ The session ended with a thanking note by Mr. Febin George.

Golden Saturday celebration on account of 50 years of M.E.S. in 2020

The National Service Scheme of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce & Science celebrated the second Golden Saturday with Alumni on 20th April, 2019 on account of 50 years of Mahatma Education Society in 2020.

Mr. Charanjeet Singh, President, Raigad District & National Vice President of Justice and Fundamental Rights was the Guest Alumni for the celebration of this Golden Saturday. It was a wonderful session and N.S.S. volunteers took part enthusiastically and everybody celebrated the day with much fervor.

B.Com. in Financial Markets students after a successful session with Alumni

On this occasion B.Com. in Financial Markets alumni Mr. Akshay Kumbhar (Batch 2012-13), who works in HDFC Bank, Mumbai as a Deputy Manager of Custodian Services and Mr. Ankit Pingale (Batch 2013-14), who works in Morning Star Ltd. Company in Vashi as a Research Analyst, were invited to orient F.Y. & S.Y.B.Com. Financial Markets students on Scope & Opportunities available in the stream of Financial Markets and were also the judge for Quiz competition organized by the department.

Golden Saturday Session by Alumni Gayatri Menon

The Department of Bachelor of Mass Media organized its first Golden Saturday with PCACS alumni and HT Cafe Journalist Gayathri Menon.

On 16th February 2019, the students of TYBMM were bestowed upon with a session related to the job opportunities based on Print Journalism. The session was conducted by PCACS Alumni Gayathri Menon, who shared her journey as an aspiring editor, juggling through various different magazine productions, until she found the perfect job for herself at HT Cafe. She spoke about the decisions she took, and the few regrets she gathered along the way. Her journey greatly inspired the students, who themselves are on the verge of creating their own unique stories.
