Arts and Media Association conducted a social activity on 29th February, 2020. As part of the activity, students were shown a video clip named – “Mera Baba Desh Chalata Hai”. It focused on importance of segregating Biodegradable wet waste and Non-biodegradable Dry Waste in two separate bins. The video highlights the harsh reality of life of a Sanitation Cleaner. It educates the importance of segregating Dry waste and Wet Waste in two separate bins. The video also salutes these unsung heroes of the society.

The Marathi Vangmay Mandal initiated a Community service programme. It was organized at Zilla Parishad School, Sukapur on Monday, 24th February, 2020.
The students had organized Drawing Competition for the students of the school. Drawing material was provided. The students awarded prizes for the best three drawings and distributed colors and chocolates.
N.S.S. unit of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce & Science in association with Rotary Club of Panvel Midtown organized Blood Donation Camp in Panvel Railway Station on 13th February, 2020. The idea of blood donation camp was to raise social awareness about the benefits of blood donation. To make people understand that each person can save 3 lives at a time and can improvise their health too. NSS volunteers played a key role in spreading awareness about the event to the public. At the end of the day over 179 blood bottles were collected. This is the highest record in blood donation in University of Mumbai 2019-20. Total number of blood bottles collected reached to 645 (First phase 466 Blood bottles in college campus and Second phase 179 Blood bottles at Panvel Station).
With the motive to reach out to the underprivileged people in our society and also inculcate a sense of pride among our students in serving the less fortunate, a social activity was organized by Literary Association. The student members and the volunteers of the Literary Association visited Manav Vikas School (Special kids school) on 27th September, 2019.
These kids were treated with fun activities, drawing and a day of happiness with the aid of our student volunteers. As a token of love the volunteers distributed crayon boxes to every child. It was an amazing experience for the volunteers to witness the innocent smiles. We would continue to stay connected with this school and continue to nurture them and do our bit to improve their quality of life.
Donating blood is a habit among the Pillai family and we have many examples where all students, teaching and non-teaching fraternity donate blood every year with much fervor and zeal. The NSS unit of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science boast of highest number of blood bottles collected and donated over the past few years. This year the mega blood donation camp was organized in association with Lions Club of Millennium on 20th August, 2019 and collected 466 bottles of blood. Each donor was thanked profusely with gratitude saluting their spirit and for being an exemplary figure for the others.
The members of Finanza association conducted social activity in Sant Sai Baba Primary School, New Panvel on 4th July, 2019. 6 students along with Prof. Sunita Saini conducted painting competition. Best 3 paintings won the reward of a stationary boxes. The competition ended with thanks from class teachers of students and in a hope that competition incepted the importance of arts in human life.
Department of B.Com. organized Social Activity on 29th June, 2019. In which students taught Basic Communication, English and Maths to the students of Dnyanjyoti Savitribai Phule School, New Panvel. And also distributed Chocolates to the students.
The Session was very interactive and students enjoyed a lot. This Session was helpful for students to inculcate various skills and gain basic knowledge in subjects of maths, English and Communication.
The Finanza Association conducted social activity on 21st February, 2019. The member students of Finanza Association contributed Washroom Cleaning products to P.M.P. Municipal School, New Panvel. The objective of the activity was to spread the awareness about personal hygiene and cleanliness. Prof. Sharavathi C. and Prof. Poonam Gupta accompanied students. Around 15 students accompanied by two faculty member visited the school. All the Teachers, students and Principal of the school were very co-operative. And they appreciated the efforts taken by teacher and students for the noble cause.

The N.S.S. Unit in association with Kotak Education Foundation is organizing social activities from July 2018 to February 2019.

These inspiring words has rightly been proved by the N.S.S. volunteers who are participating in reading practices for KEF Umang students and class management activities for STEP program. The main aim of this program is to facilitate reading and to help students overcome inhibitions. To sensitize students about healthy environment, Street plays on cleanliness drive are also conducted. A total number of 21 N.S.S. volunteers visit four schools at Mankhurd, Govandi and Chembur for two hours every Thursdays to accomplish the objective.
