Spectrum, our annual college magazine, aims to inform, inspire, entertain and create awareness on a number of current social issues to a diverse readership. Spectrum 2014-15 is dedicated to the ‘Make in India’ campaign. Social themes of our earlier editions include: Caring for the Elderly, Caring for Animals, Female Foeticide, AIDS, Science and Superstition, Teen Stress, Peace and the like.
Spectrum has a great educative value. It encourages students to think and write and hence develops their writing skills and talent. It contains a collection of articles, poems and stories primarily on social themes. They are written and edited by the students and sometimes by teachers and past pupils.
For the management of the magazine, an Editorial Board is formed comprising teachers and students. The students send their articles to the editor or any member of the editorial board. Then a selection is made and the best articles are published in the magazine with necessary addition and changes. Besides contributions from students Spectrum records the achievements of students and congratulates them for their hard work. It also contains information on the activities of the college.
Students find real joy when they see their names published in Spectrum. We have received the ‘Prof. Chandgadkar Trophy for the ‘Best College Magazine’. The theme, style and substance of Spectrum has been appreciated and we have been felicitated for addressing social concerns through our college magazine.
The College Magazine "Spectrum" is awarded with the prestigious "Prof. M. V. Changadkar Trophy" for 2014-2015 by R. A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
