This year’s 7 Days Residential Camp of N.S.S. was organized in Rohinjan Village, near Taloja.
During the camp following activities were undertaken.
- Our this year’s main camp agenda was “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan” under which we cleaned up entire Rohinjan Village surrounding. We also make the villagers aware about importance of cleanliness.
- We helped to plant about 80 saplings in Rohinjan village.
- Digged around 5 soak pits for villagers.
- Prof. Shabab Rizvi (P.O.) given lecture on “Career Guidance” for 10th and 12th standard students of Chatrapati Shivaji High School, Rohinjan.
- We told the villagers ways to save water by telling them about importance of water.
- “Energy Conservation Awareness” programme we undertook to make the people aware about energy conservation.
- Students performed Skits on women abuse, dowry, superstation, addiction, corruption etc.

2 N.S.S. volunteers, Raksha Shetty and Navin Mani had attended District Level N.S.S. Workshop on Renewable Energy Sources at C.K.T. College, Khanda Colony. The Workshop was arranged for giving information about renewable energy sources available to us and how we can effectively use those resources to stop environmental degradation. The workshop was for 2 days that is from 29th to 30th November, 2014.
“Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Munijan” Meeting at Mumbai University Campus, in Presence of Honarable C.M. of Maharashtra Shri. Devendra Fadnvis
N.S.S. Leader Mr. Nayan Koli had attended “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Munijan” meeting on 27th November, 2014 which was Maharashtra University New Initiative for Joint Action Now where Chief Minister of Maharashtra State, Honorable Shri. Devendra Fadanvis addressed the Kulgurus of various University’s of Maharastra, N.S.S. dignitaries, N.S.S. Programme Officers and N.S.S. volunteers present over their for imparting the strength of N.S.S. volunteers and college student for empowering Cleanliness campaign started by Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.
Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, New Panvel N.S.S. unit had organized Disaster Management Training programme in collaboration with Civil Defence, Raigad from 25th to 29th November, 2014. 45 N.S.S. volunteers had completed their basic disaster management training successfully. During the course Civil Defence Officers Mr. Mangsule and Mr. Shinde taught the participant how to tackle the various pre and post disaster situations.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is a National Level Campaign by the Government of India to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country. The campaign was officially launched on 2nd October, 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi. The campaign is India’s biggest ever cleanliness drive and NSS Students of PCACS, New Panvel participated in this event in the College Campus.
NSS Unit of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, New Panvel organized “Tree Plantation Drive” at Seal Ashram, Vangani Village near New Panvel on 30th September, 2014. Seal Ashram is an NGO that rescues needy and helpless people from the streets and railway stations of Mumbai. They provide a platform for the youth to accomplish the mission of SEAL.
NSS Unit of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, New Panvel and Laxmi Eye Institute jointly organized a Rally on Eye Donation Awareness Rally Program on 28th September, 2014.
