The NSS unit under the guidance of Prof. Shabab Rizvi, N.S.S. Programme Officer took the initiative to educate pupils by organising the programme which enlightened almost 500 students. The objective of the event was to focus on the causes of leprosy, signs and symptoms and to overcome it by simple and effective treatment. The leprosy Education and Rehabilitation program was conducted on 30th July, 2019.
Donor cards were issued by ALERT-INDIA and the college holds an incredible record in collecting donations and donating it to ALERT – INDIA.
Women Development Cell organized a ‘Free Thalassemia & Hemoglobin Check- up’ in association with Parents Association – Thalassemic Unit Trust (PATUT), Mumbai for T.Y. students (both girls & boys) on Tuesday, 30th July, 2019 in which 159 students check-up was done. The future course of treatment would be provided to the affected students free of cost by the trust once the reports are received. There were no thalassemia minor cases out of 159 students checked. 58 students out of 159 were found anemic.
Women Development Cell organized a “Poster Making Competition” on the theme “Health Deficiencies in Women in India”. The posters were displayed in Old Canteen Area on 30th July, 2019 and results were announced. The winners were Ms. Mehta Avishi (I), Ms. Krutika Vaibhav Samel (II), Mr. Mishra Shreyanshu Umakant (III), Ms. Yadav Pooja Dinesh (Consolation), Ms. Mhatre Prachi Naresh (Consolation). The winners were given trophies and certificates.
B.Sc.I.T. & B.Sc.C.S. Department is organizing a certificate course for the students on ’Data Science’ in association with Mumbai Management Academy & Research (MMAR) & Indian Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IMC).
A formal Inauguration function was organized on 29th July, 2019 at Mini Conclave at 12.00 p.m., Pillai College, New Panvel campus in the presence of diverse delegates Mr. R. N. Gangauly, Founder & Managing Director, Mumbai Management Academy & Research (MMAR), Ms. ILA Pathak Jha, Deputy Director Education (IMC), Mr. Mohan Rai, Founder & Director Imurgence.
The main focus was to introduce what is Data Science and give them an idea on what is Data Science & why it can be considered as a career option.
N.S.S. Unit in association with Tata Hospital organized Stem Cell Transplant awareness drive on 16th July, 2019. Classwise awareness was given by Dr. Praveen from Tata hospital. Students were oriented about Stem Cell Donor Registration.
On 17th July, 2019 the unit in association with the Marrow Donor Registry India (MDRI) organized Stem Cell depository registration drive in the College campus. Stem donor registrations were done which included teaching and non-teaching and students from Pillai College Arts, Commerce and Science.
“Greater the start, mind-blowing is the end!”, as we all know this, the first event of biotechnology department made this come true! The first and the very most stupendous event “FREESTYLE DANCE” held by the Biotechnology association of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science stood as the kick-start for the academic year 2019-20. The event was organized on 13th July, 2019 from 9.00 a.m. onwards in the Auditorium of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science. The Teacher In-charge of Biotechnology Association, Ms. Meenakshi Johri conveyed the purpose of the Association to the fresher’s and requested them to participate in the forthcoming events with enthusiasm. She also introduced the student In-charges from all the classes who would be handling the events of the Biotechnology Association. The guest of honour and the judge for the event was Mr. Sanket Pawar a dance teacher and a choreographer. Having trained by Shamak Dawar’s Institute of Dance, he has choreographed for few films and has his own dance academy in Vichumbe, Panvel. Total 12 groups participated for the competition and showcased their talent Crowd was cheered with absolute energy and craze as the students graced the floor. Moments wrapped in those 120 minutes now became a lifetime token of memory for all the students, teachers and staff members. Being amazed by back to back enthralling performances, the judge guide lined about dancing and advised everyone about the things to be kept in mind during dance performance. Having distributed the prizes and capturing smiles in photographs, this memorable event came to an end.

Anti tobacco awareness was organized on 11th July, 2019 to sensitize students on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and passive smoke exposure and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form. Video presentation was given to the students. Approximately 850 students were benefitted from the awareness programme. A mass pledge by the students was also undertaken class wise.
Research Development Cell (RDC) Student’s Wing conducted first orientation program for the student participants of Avishkar 2019–20 on 6th July, 2019 in the Conclave.
Dr. Seema Somani, RDC Teacher in charge, invited PCASC Alumni Kundan Das, who got selected for state level in Avishkar 2018-19. She gave students a detailed presentation of what is Avishkar, she briefed the rules for this competition and how the rounds will be conducted. She further explained how students will be categories depending on their streams and how they can seek help in their research from teachers guiding them in Avishkar. Overall, it happened to be 30 mins presentation. Interestingly Seema Ma’am has been a judge for all the three rounds. Alumni Kundan Das shared his experience and gave a lot of helpful tips to the participants who were present in conclave.

The B.M.M. Department had organised a movie outing for the T.Y. B.M.M. students on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2019.
The Outing was held After the lectures were done. All the Students Waited after the Lectures and Headed Towards the Bearby PVR cinema to Watch the Movie. Two of the main Subject Teachers Accompanied them for the Same.
The movie which was Selected was Article 15 as it Dealt about the Socio-political Atrocities Happening in the Rural Sections of India. The Movie was Majorly about how Difficult it is to Survive if one Raises his Voice in a Surrounding where Religion and Politics are Chosen over Humanity.
