On 18th February 2020, B.Com. Department in association with, Student Welfare Department, University of Mumbai organized an International Conference on the topic “Innovative practices in Commerce, Management and Technology”. The basic idea was to share the innovation thoughts and give a platform to the researchers, academicians and students. Dr. Mridul Nile from University of Mumbai, Member of Senate, was the speaker of the Session. Mr Taher Dawoodwala was the Guest as industry expert from International domain. There were 17 paper presentations from academicians of different colleges and students also presented the research papers. There were 33 participants who were present and showed keen interest in the conference, which made the conference a new learning platform and exploring the innovative practices in the field of commerce, management and technology. The topics taken up by the presenters included Green Banking, Investment Pattern of youth in Navi Mumbai, Corporate Social Responsibility, Effects of Social Media, Recent Trends in E-Commerce and other such interesting papers on the given subject. The session ended with a positive note of taking back the knowledge and strong confidence among the students to take up preparation of more research. The presenters were provided with the Journal containing their research paper and the certificate of participation and presentation. Also, the participants were provided the certificate of participation.
On Wednesday, 11th December 2019 Department of B.Sc. I.T. / C.S. had organised a National Conference on “Data Science: Transforming the Digital World” in association with Mumbai Management Academy and Research which was held in the college auditorium.
The conference was organised to make our participants aware and understand the importance of Data Science in different sectors like IT, HR, Management and Operations. This conference was conducted in the presence of dignitaries and delegates coming from different sectors of the industry. The chief guest of the day was Dr. S.K Nanda who is a retired IAS officer and former chief secretary of home government of Gujarat. The honourable guest of the conference was Shri. Sougata Ghosh who is the Deputy Director General of IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The eminent speakers of the session were:

- Shri. Sabeeh Ashhar (Associate Director, Quantitative Research Morningstar, Mumbai),
explaining the participants how data science will play an important role and it will grow in the coming years.

The Department of B.M.S. and B.Sc. I.T. & B.Sc. C.S. of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce & Science, New Panvel organized a One Day International Conference titled “Role of Engaging Digitalization in Socio-Economic Growth and Nation Building” on 15th December, 2018. The sponsors for the event were CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments) and Finmark Financials. The session was attended by 30 participants from all over India as well as abroad.

The Department of B.Com. and B.Com. (Accounting and Finance) of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science had organised One Day National Conference in association with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India on 28th July, 2018. The theme of the conference was “New Dimensions in Commerce Management and Technology”. The aim of the conference was to provide a platform to disseminate business intelligence. It had teaching academicians and researchers sharing their valuable experiences, ideas, innovations and research on the changing dynamic issues and the topics related to Commerce, Management and Technology.
C.S. Avaneesh Srivastava, Chairman of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Navi Mumbai Chapter and C.S. Alok Mishra of Mahanagar Gas were the Guest of the event. There were three technical sessions. First session was on ‘Company Secretary as a Career Option’, second session was based on research paper presentations and third session was on ‘Soft Skills’.
C.S. Surendra Kansthiya guided the students on the theme of ‘Company Secretary as a Career Option’. Dr. Kaustubh Sontakke was the resource person of the second session. He shared his views on various research aspects. Dr. Naveen Punjabi was the resource person of third session. There were 217 participants for the event. Teaching faculty from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Raigad attended the conference. The conference was arranged by Dr. Kiran Deshmukh, Coordinator of the Department of B.Com., Dr. Abida Khan, Coordinator of B.Com. Accounting and Finance and Ms. Lachhmi Bhatt, Assistant Director of ICSI, Navi Mumbai Chapter.
Dr. Kumudini Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, presented paper “Incongruence and differentials in reporting of child death by the coolest in India”, “Dynamics of Inter caste and Inter religious marriages in India” in Asian Population Association Conference at Shanghai during 11th to 14th July, 2018.

The conference provided a platform to disseminate digitization and impact of digitization on life where in leading academicians and researchers interacted and shared their valuable experiences, ideas, innovations and research on subjects.
