Economics Association conducted a Debate Competition on the topic ‘Role of Advertisement’ for F.Y. B.M.S. students on 6th October, 2017. The judge for the event was Prof. Shabab Rizvi.
A group of 45 students of F.Y., S.Y., T.Y.B.Com. with Dr. Rinkoo Shantnu and Dr. Aarti Sukheja visited ‘Parle G’ Factory at Khopoli on 6th October, 2017. The visit acquainted the students with the production and marketing process of preparing biscuits and other items of the said factory. Brief demonstration of different processes was given such as mixing all the ingredients, adding glucose, flavour and packing them into wrappers and storing in cartons. It was an informative and enjoyable visit.
Department of Economics had organised a Guidance Session for T.Y.B.Com. students in the subject of Business Economics on 28th September, 2017. The resource person for the session was Dr. G. K. Kalkoti, Principal, MVM’s College of Commerce & Science.
Economics Association conducted a Debate Competition on the topic ‘Current Government Polices and its Economic Impact’ on 24th August, 2017.
As a part of social commitment, Economics Association donated steel bin to Panvel Railway Station on 18th August, 2017. Students also did Rally from the college till railway station to create awareness for cleanliness under Government’s ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
On 31st July 2017, the Economics Association organised a Hygiene Campaign in Panvel Mahanagar Palika Girls School in which the students of Economics Association visited the school. The aim of the campaign was to reduce rate of sickness among children through the simple but effective act of hand-washing. For this Economics Association installed Hand-Wash Dispensers in the School and also donated liquid soap packets. Our association students also made the children aware about the benefits of cleanliness and maintaining hygiene by washing hands.
Economics Association organized Prize Distribution 2016-2017 on 15th March, 2017. The students who participated in various events, prize winners and students who contributed to the association by their dedicated work in the academic year were felicitated with trophies, certificates and cash prizes.
Economics Association conducted a Social Activity on Tuesday, 20th December, 2016 in Siddhi Karavle Village, Taloja in which our students distributed cakes to 100 children in the Zila Parishad School. The objective was to share happiness with these children for Christmas and New Year.
Debate Competition: Economics Association conducted a Debate Competition on 16th December, 2016.
The theme of the event was ‘Demonetization’. 26 students participated in the said competition. The event was judged by Dr. Rinkoo Shantnu and Dr. Aarti Sukheja. The students were well prepared for the purpose and charmed the audience with their performance.
All the participants were given 2 minutes to present their respective points following which students participated in an open debate challenge where the participants brainstormed on the said theme. The prize winners were applauded for their performance.
Industrial Visit: A group of 100 students of F.Y., S.Y., T.Y.B.Com. with Dr. Aarti Sukheja and Dr. Rinkoo Shantnu visited Maganlal Chikki Factory at Lonavala on 9th December, 2016.
The visit acquainted the students with the production and marketing process of preparing chikki and other items of the said factory.
Brief demonstration of different processes was given such as ways / sources of procuring raw materials required for making chikki, crushing of groundnuts and other raw materials, mixing all the elements, preparing glucose which is required for one of the processes, layering the chikki and cutting them in different desired / required shapes, then wrapping it in plastic and packing them into boxes, storing and distributing them. It was an informative and enjoyable visit.
