The Incubation Cell of PCACS conducted a One Day Seminar on “Business Innovations and Idea Generation” for students on 27th July, 2019 in the Conclave. Nischal Kapadia, who is a Company Secretary and Risk Manager of the Asset Management (Mutual Fund and PMS), an arm of Edelweiss was the guest of honor of this event.
This seminar helped students to know how to generate their ideas into business. Mr. Nischal Kapadia asked students to write down their own business ideas and then asked some of them to share their thoughts. While motivating students to generate their ideas he phrased a few lines “Idea is an idea until it is made into a business. So whenever you have an idea of something, put it into a paper. Putting your ideas into a paper can help you generate it.”
EDP cell organised a Workshop on “How to write a Business Plan” on 24th July, 2019 at 10.00 a.m. in conclave. The Guest Speaker for the session was Mr. Om Takker, Co-founder & Promoter of a Start Up – Oasis Fincorp & Co-founder & Promoter of a Diversified Business Vertical.
The session was attended by a total of 40 Students. The session started with a brief introduction, where in the speaker addressed the audience how had he prepared his Business plan. He emphasized on the topic he included in his business plan to make it more attractive.
The Speaker made the students practically make their business plan and guided them about the do’s and don’ts of writing a business plan. It was an interactive session wherein the students raised doubts and it was cleared by the guest.
On 22nd July 2019, B.Sc. I.T. / B.Sc. C.S. department hosted a Technical Event which focussed on Android Development. The main focus was to introduce android development and give them an idea on how android really works and also how it can be considered as a career option.
The event took place in the computer lab of the college. There were around 50 students present at the event. The event was very intriguing as it was a new and unexplored topic for many of them. The event was led by our alumni Mr. Roshan Singh who graduated in the year 2017-18. A small survey was conducted to see what the students expected to learn from the event. The event was kicked off by Mr. Roshan by briefing the students what to expect from the seminar. It was very interesting to see so many different ideas put forward by the students. Applications like Instagram, Snapchat and many others were all explained in detail and the students had a very good insight on how those applications work by the end of the seminar. The students were also given the opportunity to understand and learn the coding behind these applications.
As the seminar came to an end, the students had a very positive and optimistic response to the event and it was great to witness the event to turn out to be a success. Mr. Roshan Singh was then felicitated by Prof. Sutanuka Ghosh and Prof. Jabeen Masum with a plant sampling pot and the seminar ended with a vote of thanks.
The incubation cell of PCACS organised a Seminar on “Entrepreneurship”, on the theme “Can You Be Your Own Boss?” on 28th June, 2019 between 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event started with the inaugural session and felicitation of speakers. The guest lecturers, Mr. Sagar Chandni, of CIBA (Head of community, partnership and collaboration) and Miss Geetanjali Agarwal, founder of tech start-up (Bizlem), addressed the students over the importance of entrepreneurship if the coming years, they also explained on how one can identify their business ideas and transform them into actual ventures. The students were also taught about how one should build their venture, business ideas and the need for development of entrepreneurial skills.
Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized a session on “How to Start your Business” on 27th June, 2019 at 2.30 p.m. in Conclave. The Guest Speaker for the session was Mrs. Anjali Gupta Nair, Founder and Director of A Divine Ariel Events International Pvt. Ltd. She is also an Internationally Certified Trainer, Business Entrepreneur and Professional Speaker. The session was attended by a total 98 Students. The session started with a brief introduction, where in the speaker addressed the audience about her journey of becoming an entrepreneur that is, from a shy school girl to a Business Owner. The session focused on “Mindset Building” as a preparatory ground for the entire journey of becoming an Entrepreneur. It was an interactive session wherein the students raised doubts; they also shared their business idea of becoming an entrepreneur.
Department of B.Com. Accounting and Finance organized One Day National Seminar on “Consumer Awareness and Financial Literacy” in association with Consumer Guidance Society of India (CGSI) on 22nd June 2019, Saturday for second and third year B.Com. Accounting and Finance and B.M.S. students. Seminar was started with inauguration ceremony. Dr. Gajanan Wader, Principal and Mrs, Deepika Sharma, Vice Principal felicitated guest Mr. Thirthraj Pandey and resource person Mr. Ganesh Bhatt. Dr. Kavita Kathare introduced guest Mr. Thirthraj Pandey, Project Officer, Consumer Guidance Society of India and resource person Mr. Ganesh Bhatt, Master Trainer, R & G Institute of Professional Trainings Pvt. Ltd. from Dehardun, Uttarakhand. The seminar was organized in three sessions.

Session II – 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. T.Y.B.Com. Accounting and Finance students
Session III – 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. S.Y. And T.Y. B.M.S. Students
Pandey sir guided students on consumer awareness with practical examples of cases of frauds with customers and awareness video. Bhatt sir guided on Finance, investment awareness, setting of financial goals and steps to be taken to achieve them. Seminar was concluded with vote of thanks session.
One Day NAAC sponsored National Level Workshop on the theme “AQAR Writing & Submission in the light of new NAAC guidelines” was organized by IQAC on 30th March, 2019 at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce & Science, New Panvel, in which 48 delegates participated.
The Workshop provided a platform for discussion on AQAR writing in the light of New NAAC Guidelines. Session I was addressed by Dr. Jessy Pious, IQAC Coordinator, Ramnarain Ruia College in which Criterion 7 was discussed at length with a focus on how to develop & sustain best practices in institutions. With regards to institutional distinctiveness it was shared that every institution should evolve practices that it would like to be recognized for which makes it ‘distinct’, or, one of its kinds. Such attributes must be reflected in all its activities.
Session II was addressed by Mr. B. S. Ponmudiraj, Deputy Advisor, NAAC, Bengaluru in which Guidelines for Submission of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) by Accredited Institutions as per the Revised Accreditation Framework in November, 2017 was discussed at length. It was shared that institutions Accredited by NAAC need to submit AQAR online.
Dr. S. T. Gadade, Secretary, Janardhan Bhagat Shikhshan Prasarak Sanstha, Panvel & Principal, Ramsheth Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Kharghar expressed his views on the Workshop. It was shared that IQAC has to ensure that whatever is done in the institution for “education” is done efficiently and effectively with high standards. The role of the coordinator of the IQAC in triggering and sustaining the quality momentum was highlighted.
The concluding session of the Workshop resolved the doubts and queries of the delegated towards AQAR Preparation and Submission. The Workshop concluded with the Valedictory Function.
On 28th February 2019, Health Check-Up Committee organized a Workshop on “Dental Health”. It was conducted for the teaching and non-teaching staff of PCACS in the Conclave. Dr. Shantana Satish Bartakke educated the importance of dental health through an interactive session named ‘Mouth Matters’.
The session included topics like oral hygiene importance and methods. She emphasized on the easy ways of maintaining the dental health. Dr. Shantana had a very interactive approach throughout the session, which was liked the staff of PCACS.
