As part of worldwide observation of International Yoga Day, National Service Scheme of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, New Panvel in association with Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Mumbai also observed this day on 21st June, 2016 in the campus. A yoga training session from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. was organized in which Principal Dr. Daphne Pillai, students, teaching and non-teaching staff took part enthusiastically and practiced various ‘asanas’ of Yoga and pranayama. A Yoga practitioner was invited to demonstrate various Yoga postures and asanas. It was a healthy session and everybody celebrated the day with much fervour.
Our N.S.S. team, in association with International Association of Lions Club, conducted Thalassemia Awareness and Detection Camp on 20th January, 2016. Around 1,900 students participated in the camp. The event was graced by the presence of PMJF Ln Nitin Shetty, District Governor, and Ln NR Parmeshwaran, DC activity, along with Ls Jyoti Jagasia, District President.

4 N.S.S. volunteers of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science had attended Youth Festival on 12th January, 2015 at University of Mumbai, Kalina Campus. There was entertaining and cultural programme been arranged.
As per university guidelines each N.S.S. volunteer had given task to collect 6 months electricity bill from 3 houses. NSS volunteers had given orientation to their neighbors about electricity saving and after some months we collected their unit consumption and compiled it into report to know the units saved by our initiative. We saved 21643 electricity units.
