Entrepreneur Development Cell of PCACS organised a one entrepreneurship skill development workshop on ‘Chocolate Making ‘on 6th October 2018 under the theme “DO IT YOURSELF” (DIY). This session was conducted by our Alumni entrepreneur Ms Alisha Sakpal of Bachelor of Financial Markets.
The aim of the session was to boost the entrepreneurship skill in them and provide a platform for exhibiting their creative side and how to make it into business opportunities. The students who participated thoroughly enjoyed the activity
The second most enthralling event of Biotechnology Association named ‘BIO-SKIT’ was conducted on 4th October, 2018, Friday, in the Auditorium of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science at 11.00 a.m. Each and everyone experienced an amazing kind of learning technique. Apart from the regular chalk and board learning method, ‘BIO SKIT’ was planned to make students learn biological processes and mechanisms in a dramatic way by various acts performed by the students itself. It also gave the students the opportunity to showcase their acting talents. The event was inaugurated by lighting the “DIYA” by the faculty in the auditorium. Acts performed included a variety of topics focusing on drug addiction, mechanism of cancer and various other immunological processes which affected health. Audience gave a loving response as the acts included comedy punchlines, songs, poems and mind blowing scenes. There were total six teams consisting of 8 members each. The event was hosted by very talented S.Y. B.Sc. students Miss. Bhagyashree and Pristo Paul which added extra zeal to the event. Based on the concept and the perfect performing skills, the judges for the event, Mr. Gopakumar Pillai and Dr. C. K. Prashanth evaluated the performances and gave kind remarks to the participants for their hard work and tips for giving a better show next time. All the classes of Biotechnology participated with huge enthusiasm and even the first year students showed an active participation and enacted very well according to their level of understanding the subject. By promising to keep the zeal same for the rest of the year, the event concluded with a group photograph of all the participants and the teachers and bunch of happy minds filled with inspiring knowledge.
Internal Quality Assurance Cell had organized National Level Seminar on “Innovative Teaching and Research” was organized on 4th October, 2018.

In the said Seminar Prof. Deepika Sharma delivered the Welcome Address in which she highlighted the need for teachers to unlearn and relearn to be able to cater to the demands of the new age in the field of education.

Pillai College of Arts Commerce and Science’s Department Bachelor of Mass Media conducted the 3rd Red Carpet Event on 3rd October, 2018 in the Auditorium. The event was graced by Mr. Akshay Chandanshiv, Assistant Director of Mr. Anurag Kashyap. He has also judged the Mono Acting competition at Alegria.
This year the Red Carpet Event had a new addition of Ad Films made by the First year and Second year students of B.M.M. The event also had the screening of the Short Films made by the Third Year, to provide guidance to juniors. The event gave participants an amazing chance to showcase their creativeness as well as a platform to raise some serious issues too.
The 3rd Red Carpet Event was carried out smoothly with the help of amazing anchors and volunteers. The Event concluded with the announcement of the results and felicitation of Winners.
An adventurous trekking activity was organised by the Nature club of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Panvel on 1st October 2018 at Sondai Fort, Karjat.
The trek was guided by Mr. Dhanjay Madan from Nisarg Mitra,Panvel. The two hour trek had participants from 48 nature clubs, all indulging in various activities to understand the importance for preservation and conservation of environment. It was an effective and fun filled way to spread nature love among students.
Mumbai, the most populous city in India is known for its beaches. But piles of trash and sewage contamination have made them unsafe for visitors in past few years from now. Inspired by Mumbai based lawyer and environmentalist Afroze Shah. The N.S.S. unit of Pillai College conducted Versova beach cleaning campaign on 30th September, 2018.
Pillai College celebrates Traditional Day and Chocolate Day
Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science celebrated one of the most awaited day of the year, Traditional Day. It was held on 29th September, 2018 at the college.
The day celebrated India’s diverse culture. It’s a day designated for people to come in traditional attire from their home state, or specific culture of their choice. It consisted of talented anchors who showcased their skills and entertained the crowd, this was followed by ramp show of students presenting traditional dresses of different regions. They also danced on the tunes of Kashmiri, Punjabi and Marathi songs. The event also consisted of talented rappers, beatboxers, singers, and last but not the least Pillai’s official dancing team – RTN giving an astonishing performance.
The event was carried out smoothly with the help of the volunteers and student council members.
The event concluded with a DJ performance where everyone enjoyed and danced leaving with smiles on their faces.

As every year in the month of January the Road Safety Week is organized by the ministry of road transport and highways. The N.S.S. unit of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science, New Panvel organized Road Safety Awareness Rally with RTO Senior Officer Mr. Vinod Wasikar on 28th September, 2018 to enlighten people on road safety, driving rules and cautions.
